Complete Interview Preparation for getting 100% job
Dress sense for an interview
For any job, self-confidence is necessary. In fact a person can achieve anything through self-confidence. One can reach great heights with self confidence. To be self confident, one should try to absorb as much knowledge as possible about everything. You should believe that you can do anything. If you are successfully able to portray yourself as a self confident person, your chances of success at an interview will be doubles. When you enter the interview room, the first thing noticed about you is your face and dress. If you portray confidence in the way you walk and talk and if your dress sense is appropriate, you have won half the interview already. There is a way to walk, sit and talk in an interview. This should be elegant and confident, not clumsy. When you walk make sure that your shoes or footwear does not make too much noise. If you are a female avoid wearing high heeled shoes. Your clothes should be clean and wrinkle free. Neither too clumsy nor too fashionable. If you are going to give an interview for a fashion house or modelling firm, there is no harm in wearing fashionable clothes. If you are appearing for a Government job, dress should be simple yet elegant and the colour should be sober. You should select your dress depending on the job you are applying for. Avoid touching your hair or nose in an interview, this shows that you are nervous. If you are a female and would like to keep your hair open, make sure it does not come in front of your face. Don't wear too many ornaments and try not to overdo the make-up.
Knowledge of things
You should have a good knowledge of things that you will be asked in an interview. For whichever job you are going to give an interview, your general knowledge should be good. Read books on current affairs and newspapers daily to keep your knowledge update. You should know what has happened in the world one day before or on the date your interview. People are generally asked about current affairs related to things that have happened as recent as the date of the interview. Reply with confidence. Don't reply in an unsure manner. If you have a point of view that is different from the point of view of the interviewer, present it in an appealing manner. Always keep patient and cool especially if the interviewer tries to irritate or confuse you! (this happens in the IAS exams). Reply with diplomacy if unsure. And don't reply rudely or in an irritated manner.
Things that usually go wrong
There are some things that can go wrong in an interview and give a bad image of yourself. Stammering, stuttering, becoming confused, dropping your file from your hands etc are some of these. If this happens remain self confident, smile at the interviewers and say 'sorry about that'.
What do do inside the interview hall
Always ask for permission before entering the room. Walk elegantly till the chair and wait. Once asked to sit down you should sit on the chair and say 'thank you'. Stop fidgeting your hands or feet unnecessary and don't look around here and there in the room. Keep your certificates in an organized manner in your file so that your are able to show any document when demanded immediately. Never keep your documents in a plastic cover. Plastic covers make an irritating nose when folded or unfolded. When replying your tone should neither be too loud nor too soft. Never make the mistake of acting over smart or pretending to be more intelligent than the interviewer. Never lie about your qualifications and work experience. If found out (they will find out!) it will be an insult to you and you can also loose your job. Reply to the point and don't try to beat around the bush. If you don't know a particular, tell the fact to the interviewers calmly. Never make the mistake of criticizing your earlier employer or firm. At the end of the interview when told to leave don't forget to say thank you, get up slowly, move the chair gently and walk slowly towards the door. Take your documents, forgetting something in the interview room gives a bad impression. Open and close the interview door gently.
After the interview
Usually people are very optimistic about getting jobs once the interview is over. Once rejected they loose self confidence and make the mistake of not assessing their performance and behaving more aptly at the next interview. One should learn from one's interview experience and constantly better oneself. Don't act as if it's the end of the world if you fail in an interview. Try to do better next time. Never loose confidence.
